Safely Sanitizing Face Masks
With face masks becoming mandatory in all public places around the Jacksonville area, you are probably wondering how to thoroughly clean your cloth mask properly.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends washing cloth masks after each use. If you would prefer to wash your mask at home, we advise using hot water along with your regular detergent. Make sure to dry your mask fully using high heat in your dryer, if possible.
As an alternative to washing your masks at home, Oceanside is more than happy to sanitize and disinfect your masks for you, at no charge.
For the past five years, Oceanside has used an EPA-approved fabric sanitizer called Endex-99, which reduces bacterial count by 99.9%. Our cleaning equipment reaches much higher temperatures than in-home machines can reach, with temperatures of 140 degrees, plus our pressing stations get to over 350 degrees, all of which helps remove most germs. Rest assured, your mask will be cleaned and sanitized safely before your next wear.
We can clean the masks for you same day; if we receive your masks by 9 am, they will be ready and sanitized by 5 pm. If you use our delivery service, simply place your masks in a small plastic bag and include with the rest of your clothes. They will be returned, cleaned and sanitized, on your next delivery day.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call our office at (904) 642-6177.
