“I wanted to make sure the gown was in pristine condition so I can take it out one day and remember the best day ever.”
We were married on May 5, 2018.
Our celebration was at Plantation Oaks Farms in Callahan, Florida.
My gown – which I was and still am obsessed with – is a Martina Liana gown that was purchased at Love, A Bridal Boutique in Jacksonville Beach with the help of the wonderful girls who work there.
There are so many wonderful memories it is hard to choose just one, but my husband and I saying the vows that we wrote and the dance party at the reception are definitely my top two memories.
I had no idea that trying on gowns would be so fun. I was super anxious going into my appointment, but after the first gown I started having so much fun. I joked that if Love ever needed a “model” for photos that I was available. The Martina Liana gown was one of the last gowns I tried and I LOVED it. I had another appointment at a different bridal gown boutique two days later so we took lots of pictures and I said I would let them know. For the next two days I stared at the pictures on my phone falling more and more in love and even though there were some beautiful gowns that I tried on at the next place, nothing could compare to the Martina. I went back to Love a few days later and said YES!
Unofficially…he stalked me for a little bit years ago and I never paid attention to him. I was a bartender at Caribbee Key and we had the same group of friends. He also was the assistant coach for one of my little brothers, who played on the Fletcher JV baseball team. In 2013 while Tyler was on Christmas leave from the Army, a friend officially introduced us at the Ritz in Jax Beach, and the rest is history.
I wanted to get my gown cleaned because I plan on wearing it every year for our anniversary…kidding…
maybe ha ha.
But my dress did endure the ceremony and photos being outside and all the dancing that we did during the reception, so I wanted to make sure the gown was in pristine condition so I can take it out one day and remember the best day ever.
There were so many things and little touches that made the ceremony feel extra special – our personal vows, all of our friends and family being present, my uncle singing Ave Maria as the mothers walked down the aisle, the gorgeous florals, but most importantly saying “ I Do” to my most perfect person.
