We were married on June 11, 2022.
We got married at Tarrytown United Methodist Church. It was the church I grew up going to and where I was confirmed, so it was an easy choice! Our reception was at Westwood Country Club, which was another easy choice since our family had been longtime members. I grew up going to Westwood almost daily, especially in the summer. Plus, it has an awesome view of Lake Austin and we were able to get away by boat!!
We were engaged for a year, almost to the day! We only had a day-of wedding coordinator, so it was really just my mom and I doing most of it. It was definitely a lot of work, but it was really fun and rewarding to see it all come together!
A few vendors I’d like to recognize are:
Photographer – Lacey + Lee Photography
Flowers – Monarch Florals
Band – BRW Band (out of New Orleans)
Cake – Michelle’s Patisserie
Coordination – The Event by Robin
I honestly forget the name of the designer, but I bought it at Julian Gold!!
It was actually the first dress I tried on at Julian Gold! I had been to one place prior to Julian Gold, so at that point I had a good feel for what I liked and what I felt most comfortable and bridal in. I loved it from the second I put it on!! I proceeded to try on about 10 more dresses just to be sure, but kept coming back to this one!
I knew I wanted to get my dress preserved because my mom had preserved hers and I was actually able to remake it and wear it for my rehearsal dinner! It was so special and I would love to give that opportunity to my kids!
I chose Oceanside because I knew I could trust them to make it as beautiful as the day I wore it! I got the dress quite dirty, so they were the only cleaner that I knew could make it as white as it originally was. Plus, I know it’s a wonderful family and business. I’m excited and honored to work with them!
We are actually both from Austin, but didn’t really connect until my senior year in college! I was in my second semester at the University of Texas, and Jack had started a new job in Austin. We were out with mutual friends and connected instantly. We’ve been together ever since!
Ah, it’s so hard to pick a favorite! I loved our ceremony so much. Our pastor did an amazing job of making it personal and involving our loved ones. That was really special to me. I loved getting to see everyone at the reception and felt lucky that we really got to talk and spend time with everyone there. Obviously dancing was fun as was our getaway by boat!!
Like I said, our pastor did an amazing job! He made it super personal and made sure that we really took in the church and everyone who was there for us. We had my brother do a reading, which I also loved!
