You asked for it, you got it! Due to customer demand, Oceanside Cleaners has now installed self-service kiosks at all our locations: Ponte Vedra, Southside and our new St. Augustine location. These modern machines help us provide the utmost flexibility around dry cleaning and laundry drop off and pick up.
All sites also have self-service lockers, which can store larger or bulkier items ready for pick up, such as comforters, pillows, blankets, and folded and boxed items.
“Customers are very enthusiastic about the kiosks and lockers because they’re available 24/7,” says owner Mike Harris. “Even when we’re not open, customers can drop off or pick up their items.”
To drop off items using the kiosks, customers simply enter their phone number on the kiosk screen and deposit the items using laundry bags provided on site or a personal bag with their name attached to it. Items are ready for pickup in two to three days. If you need them sooner, you can request rush service by noting your deadline in the “special instructions” section. Customers can also check order status using the app.
When they arrive for pick up, customers again enter their phone number and a conveyor belt automatically presents the hanging items in the kiosk’s pick up window. If the item is folded or too bulky to fit in the kiosk window, it will be held in one of the self-service lockers. Customers will be prompted on how to retrieve those items.
Many people value the convenience of the kiosks, but rest assured that Oceanside will continue to offer in-person service during store hours at ALL locations for those who prefer it. Both options reflect our commitment to the highest level of customer care for which we are known. In fact, the kiosks enhance our personalized service by freeing our customer care representatives to focus on entering garments into the system and interacting with customers who want or need assistance.
“Sometimes I prefer engaging with the Oceanside staff in person,” says customer Nancy Meyer. “But I often use the kiosks since I can stop by in the evening and avoid traffic. If I have special concerns about an item, I can note them at the kiosk.”
Mike Harris, whose family has run Oceanside for more than 35 years, says nearly half of Oceanside’s customers have used the kiosks. “We’ve always kept up with changes in the marketplace, and the kiosks are the latest example of that,” he adds.
