When was your wedding?
We were married on April 30, 2022.
What was the name of your venue and why did you choose it?
Our venue was the Casa Marina Hotel & Restaurant. We knew we wanted to get married by the beach and Casa Marina boasted elegance and charm and was a blank slate to make the wedding of our dreams come to life.
How long did it take to plan your big day? Any vendors you’d like to recognize?
We were engaged for about a year and a half. We couldn’t have done it without Adair and Bethany from Dairing Events. LDD Events also exceeded our expectations with the floral designs. AlleyCakes did an amazing job with our cake and our guests all loved the ice cream cart from Mayday Ice Cream. A shout-out to Stacey from Hair by Stacey Oettinger and Cathee from Studio Bride for the great job they did on my hair and makeup. Also, Sarah from Sarahdipity did a fantastic job with our photos.
Who is the designer of your gown and where was it purchased?
I purchased my Justin Alexander gown from The Dressing Room in St. Petersburg, FL. I used to model for them so it was fun to have a full circle moment!
When did you know that your gown was “the one?”
I knew my gown was “the one” when I didn’t want to take it off and I felt most like myself.
Why did you want to get your gown and veil steamed and delivered to the wedding site? Why did you choose Oceanside?
There was so much I learned during the wedding planning process – one of them being that getting your gown and veil steamed was a game changer! Oceanside was recommended by both my wedding planner and seamstress. I was very nervous about giving up my dress so it could be steamed and delivered, but Clare was so easy to work with, accommodating and trustworthy.
How did you and your husband meet?
We met at the Florida-Georgia game. He was a Georgia alum and I was in my last year at Florida. Go Gators!
What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?
There were so many special moments, but our first look was magical. It was in between the Florida and Georgia house at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, paying homage to where we met and where Joe proposed. There was so much anticipation for Joe to see me in my dress, and it was everything I had dreamed of!
What made your ceremony feel extra special?
Being in the company of all of our loved ones who we weren’t able to see during the pandemic was so special.
