The Oceanside Cleaners family is growing—in more ways than one! Not only did one of our owners, Clare, just welcome a baby boy, we’re also adding a brand new location in St. Augustine.
The move comes as an outgrowth of steadily growing business and incredible customer support in our Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra Beach sites. The new store will be located at 3915 A1A South in St. Augustine, formerly South Beach Cleaners.
“We are excited to build on South Beach Cleaners’ success and offer our award-winning laundry and dry cleaning services to a new community,” says Mark Harris, co-owner of Oceanside Cleaners along with his parents and sister, Clare. “We’re already talking to St. Augustine residents who have been traveling long distances to access our specialized services, such as cleaning and preserving heirloom or designer items. Now those customers have an option close to home.”

Oceanside Up, Industry Down
Oceanside is proud to be growing in an industry that has seen nationwide declines. The number of dry cleaning and laundry establishments in the United States dropped a staggering 30% between 2002 and 2024, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Trends such as “fast fashion,” work-from-home and more casual attire in the workplace have contributed to lower demand for consumers’ use of professional dry cleaning. Meanwhile, dry cleaners have had to adjust to regulatory changes such as a 2024 ban on certain dry cleaning solvents and 2025 tariffs that raised the cost of imported supplies like wire hangers and garment bags.
Oceanside has worked to anticipate and adapt to challenges like these, while staying focused on our main selling point: excellent, high-end service for every customer.
