“When I put it on, I immediately envisioned myself walking down the aisle to Mason in this dress and I knew it was the one.”

When was your wedding?

We were married on June 11th, 2022.

What was the name of your venue and why did you choose it?

I got married at my grandparent’s (my mom’s parents) house in Jacksonville, Florida. My parents had their wedding reception there and growing up, I always knew I wanted to keep the tradition going. I am very close with my grandparents and living in Ponte Vedra Beach, we would go there all the time. Some of my best memories have taken place at my grandparent’s house, and I knew it would be so special to have my big day at such a sentimental place.

How long did it take to plan your big day? Any vendors you’d like to recognize?

We got engaged on December 29th, 2020. At the time, we were both still in college, but I couldn’t help but start the planning process. We both knew we wanted a summer wedding, so we decided on a longer engagement so we could both finish school and would not be rushed throughout the process. My mom and I agreed that we would need to enlist the help of a wedding planner. Funny enough, my mom and I researched wedding planners on our own, and we both listed Adair Currie of Dairing Events as our top choice! From the get go, the three of us clicked and Adair truly did make our vision come to life.

We had an amazing team of vendors who we hand picked. Each one of them was such a pleasure to work with, and they made our day the fairytale I’ve always dreamed of:

Who is the designer of your gown and where was it purchased?

My dress is from the Anne Barge Blue Willow collection and I got it in Atlanta at the Anne Barge Atelier.

When did you know that your gown was “the one?”

When I started looking at pictures of wedding dresses, I was immediately drawn to Anne Barge’s designs. I told my mom that Anne Barge was my favorite designer and it turns out my mom wore an Anne Barge dress on her wedding day, too! My cousin, who was also my maid of honor, lives in Atlanta and I saw that Anne Barge had a flagship store there, so I immediately booked an appointment. At my appointment my mom, dad, cousin (MOH), aunt, and grandmother joined me.

The first dress I tried on was my favorite design that I had seen online: a sparkly, strapless, A-line. I truly did love that dress, but I just wasn’t completely sold. A few dresses later, I  tried on a fitted dress, something I was completely against, and I absolutely fell in love with the way it looked on me. When I put it on, I immediately envisioned myself walking down the aisle to Mason in this dress and I knew it was the one.

Why did you choose Oceanside for your gown’s alterations, cleaning and preservation? Why did you want to get your gown cleaned and preserved?

Growing up right across the street from Oceanside, we have always used them. They have altered everything from my pageant dresses when I was a little girl all the way up to my senior prom dress, so it was a no-brainer when it came time to get my wedding dress altered by Tooran.

My mom’s wedding dress was not preserved correctly so, sadly, none of the fabric was able to be used when I wanted to incorporate pieces of it into my day. My wedding dress is so special to me and I want to make sure that it stays in pristine condition for my future daughter to be able to incorporate into her wedding day one day if she chooses to.

How did you and your husband meet?

My husband Mason and I met in August of 2018. I was going into my sophomore year of college at Florida Gulf Coast University and he was transferring there for his junior year. I was on the softball team and he was on the baseball team, so we ran in the same group of friends. One night while we were out, one of his teammates introduced us. I told Mason that night that I was going to marry him one day and here we are now!

What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?

My favorite memory from our wedding day was the dance floor. Our band, Liquid Pleasure, is the absolute best and everyone loved them and their upbeat energy. From crowd surfing to spraying everyone with champagne, the dance floor was quite a hit!

What made your wedding ceremony feel extra special?

Getting married at my grandparent’s house made everything about our day extra special!
